1,354,204 electric MOT tests from the DVSA anonymised bulk data, test years 2023 to 2025, published under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
Cars are test class 4, vans are class 7. Initial tests only, so retests are excluded. Results P, F and PRS; pass rate is P divided by P+F+PRS. Where a nameplate is sold with petrol and electric versions, only the electric tests count. Mileage is banded to 2,500 miles at source, so every figure is a band midpoint rather than a reading. Nothing with fewer than 500 tests is published.
Comparisons are age-standardised. The electric parc is uniformly young, so an un-weighted comparison against a petrol nameplate measures age rather than fuel. We weight both sides to the same age mix and publish the method beside the number.
