Peugeot e-Expert

What 1,383 MOT tests say about buying one used. This is a van, so the question is not how far it goes — it is whether it still carries what you need it to.

Our verdict
Holds up well

88.7% pass their first MOT at three years old, against 81.3% for electric vans as a whole. That is 7.4 points better than the average van of the same age. Nothing in any record tells you the state of the battery, and on a working van that is the number that decides whether it is worth buying.

Payload — the number that decides it

A battery pack weighs several hundred kilos and every one of them comes off what you can carry. Two vans with the same 3.5 tonne limit can differ by a quarter of a tonne of useful load, and the brochure rarely leads with it.

We work it out as gross vehicle weight minus kerb weight — the gross figure from the EV database, the kerb figure from the vehicle record. Both are per-registration, so it is a number for the exact van rather than the model.

Not published for this model yet. It needs a live lookup on a specific registration, and those services are switched off on the account today. The calculation is built and waiting.

When it runs it is £8.99 on its own, or part of the full van report.
